How to build a careers page that converts candidates
Your careers page is where candidates decide whether to apply. Here’s what high-converting careers pages do differently — and how to build one without code.

For most growing companies, the careers page is an afterthought — a plain bulleted list of job titles tucked into the footer with an email address or an unwieldy 10-field application form. Yet data shows that more than 70% of active candidates visit a company’s careers site before applying, even when they first saw the job on LinkedIn or Naukri.
A great careers page isn't about expensive design agencies. It's about answering the three questions every candidate asks before deciding to spend 15 minutes applying: What do you actually do? What is it like to work here? And why should I choose you over three other offers?
1. Lead with who you are and why it matters
Job seekers don't join job descriptions; they join teams. Use the top of your careers page to articulate your mission in plain language, showcase your core values, and highlight real photos of your office, team offsites, or remote setup. Skip corporate clichés like 'fast-paced dynamic environment' and explain what day-to-day work truly looks like.
2. Make finding the right role effortless
If a candidate has to scroll past 40 unrelated roles to find one in their discipline, they bounce. Group open positions by department (Engineering, Sales, Operations) and location. Clearly tag whether a role is remote, hybrid, or on-site, and include salary ranges wherever possible to attract qualified applicants.
3. Kill friction in the application form
- Allow 1-click resume uploads with automatic parsing.
- Never require candidates to create an account or verify email before submitting.
- Keep required form fields under 4: Name, Email, Phone, and Resume.
- Support mobile-first applicants — more than 60% of job seekers in India apply from their phones.
4. Outline your hiring process transparently
Candidate ghosting and application anxiety are two sides of the same coin. Explain your interview steps directly on your careers page: an initial screening call, a technical or domain discussion, and a final conversation. When candidates know what to expect, interview attendance rates jump significantly.
5. Connect applications directly to your ATS
Sending applications to an unmonitored inbox like [email protected] is where candidate pipelines go to die. Every submission on your careers page should flow straight into your ATS hiring board with source attribution, triggering instant confirmation emails and keeping your hiring team in sync.
