Interview scorecard template
An interview scorecard makes every interviewer assess the same criteria on the same scale, and write down the evidence behind each rating. That makes decisions fairer and much easier to compare across a panel.
When to use this template
Agree the scorecard before the first interview for a role, and give every interviewer in a round the same one. Fill it in straight after the interview, before discussing the candidate with anyone else.

How to use this template
- Pick 4–6 criteria that really predict success in the role; more makes ratings vague.
- Write what a 3 (meets) looks like for each criterion before interviews start.
- Ask every candidate the same core questions for each criterion.
- Record evidence, not impressions: what the candidate said or did.
Mistakes to avoid
- Rating 'culture fit' without defining it, which invites bias.
- Filling the scorecard in after the debrief, when opinions have already been shared.
- Letting each interviewer use their own criteria.
- Using a 1–10 scale where nobody agrees what a 6 means.
