Connect Microsoft Teams for interview links

Updated 30 October 2026

Once your Microsoft 365 admin connects OneATS, every online interview you schedule gets a real Microsoft Teams meeting link, which is sent to the candidate and the interview panel. This is a one-time setup for the whole company.

Before you start

  • You need a OneATS company admin and someone who can register apps and grant admin consent in Microsoft Entra ID (your Microsoft 365 administrator).
  • Allow about 30 minutes.

Connect Microsoft 365

  1. 1In OneATS, open Settings and select the Calendar & Video tab, then the Microsoft Azure (Entra ID) section. The on-screen guide shows each step.
  2. 2In Microsoft Entra ID, register a new app for OneATS.
  3. 3Copy the Directory (tenant) ID and Application (client) ID into OneATS.
  4. 4Under Certificates & secrets, generate a client secret and paste its Value into OneATS (not the Secret ID).
  5. 5Grant the Microsoft Graph API permissions listed in the guide, and grant admin consent.
  6. 6Enter the organiser email address that meetings should be created under, then save.

Schedule a Teams interview

When you schedule an interview, choose an online interview. OneATS creates the Teams meeting and includes the link in the invitation. Interviewers who also connect their own Microsoft calendar get the interview in Outlook. Connect your calendar.

Troubleshooting

  • No Teams link is created: check the secret was copied from the Value column and hasn't expired, and that admin consent was granted.
  • Meetings are created under the wrong person: update the organiser email in the Calendar & Video tab.
  • Your organisation restricts online meetings: your Microsoft 365 admin may need to allow the app to create meetings for the organiser account.
