Google Calendar integration
Connect Google Workspace or Gmail calendars so OneATS only offers interview times when people are genuinely free, adds interviews to their calendars and keeps RSVPs in sync.
Why connect it
Why connect Google Calendar to OneATS
No double bookings
OneATS checks live free/busy across the whole panel and suggests slots that work for everyone.
Candidates pick a time
Self-scheduling offers only real free slots, so candidates book without email back-and-forth.
Stays in sync
When an interviewer accepts or declines in Google Calendar, OneATS updates within about a minute and alerts the recruiter on declines.
Setup
How to set up Google Calendar
The steps below match the screens in your OneATS portal.
Keys, provider links and portal locationWhat you need
- A Google Cloud project with the Google Calendar API enabled (for the admin step)
- A Google Workspace or Gmail account for each interviewer
- A OneATS Growth plan or higher
Admin: create the Google app
In console.cloud.google.com, enable the Google Calendar API and create an OAuth client ID of type Web application with the redirect URI shown in OneATS. Create an API key too.
Admin: save it in OneATS
In the Google Workspace & Meet section, enter the Client ID, Client Secret and API key, then test the connection.
Settings → Calendar & Video
Interviewers: connect their calendar
Each interviewer selects Gmail or Google Workspace under Connected calendars and signs in.
Settings → My Calendar
Interviewers: set availability
Set time zone, working hours, interview limits per day and week, breaks, and time off. Check the preview of next free slots.
- Client secrets are encrypted when saved and never shown in the browser again.
Keys and links
Keys you need for Google Calendar and where they go
An admin creates a Google Cloud OAuth app once for the company; then each interviewer signs in with Google. Nobody needs to share a password.

- Interviewers then connect under Settings → My Calendar → Connected Calendars by selecting Gmail or Google Workspace.
Where it goes in OneATS

Open this screen in OneATSAdmins only. You'll be asked to sign in.
- OneATS reads only busy times, never the titles or contents of personal events.
- Confirmed interviews are created on the interviewer's calendar with a real Google Meet link.
- Rescheduling in OneATS moves the calendar event; changes in Google Calendar sync back.
Questions
Google Calendar questions
Does every interviewer need to connect?
Yes, each person connects their own calendar so their real availability is used. Interviewers without a connection fall back to their working hours.
Can OneATS see my private events?
No. It checks busy intervals only and never reads event titles or contents.
Why does it say Google Calendar isn't set up for my company?
An admin needs to add your company's Google app in Settings → Calendar & Video first.
